Using a solution of aspirin and water can prevent certain plant diseases. Crush and dissolve one and one-half 325mg tablets in two full gallons of plain water. If you’re growing plants indoors, keep your thermostat around 65 or 75 degrees daily. The temperature needs to remain steady and warm so the plants can grow. Preparing the soil for your perennial garden is easy. All you need to do is use a garden spade to slice under the turf, flip it over, then spread wood chips over the area about three to four inches deep. After a few weeks, you may then utilize the area to plant your flowers.

After your seeds have sprouted, heat lamps are not needed. You can begin to move them further from the heat source as they become seedlings. Plant Materials

Your compost pile should contain green plant materials and dry plant materials. Your green material can be made up of produce waste, used floral arrangements, lawn cuttings, leaves, and other yard waste. Dried material includes straw, shredded paper, and cardboard. Don’t include ashes, diseased plants, charcoal meat, or carnivorous animal waste.

Looking for a natural way to kill weeds in your garden? A layer of newspaper, several pages thick, placed over the ground will do the trick. Weeds can’t grow without sunlight. Newspapers placed atop weeds will starve them from light and they will eventually die. Newsprint also breaks down well, incorporating itself into the compost. Covering the newspaper with mulch will help your garden to be more pleasing to the eye.
